Usangu Expedition Camp is situated in a shady spot on the outskirts of the high water mark of the Usangu Wetlands. This largely unexplored wilderness, with no other camps in the area, is an
adventurer's dream. Walking safaris, fly camping, night game drives and boating on the waterways provide a variety of options for exploring this vast wilderness. In the far south of Ruaha National Park, lies the seldom explored wilderness area of the Usangu Wetlands. This vast wetland is the source of the Great Ruaha River which supports not only a variety of wildlife and habitats throughout Southern Tanzania but also a number of communities beyond the national parks. Usangu hosts a good variety of wildlife, although information is still being gathered about the densities and movements of the species in the area. Predators include lion, leopard, and wild dog, alongside healthy populations of elepant, hippo, Topi, Roan, Sable, and Defassa Waterbuck. There is excellent birding offering a combination of wetland and woodland species. Due to the largely unexplored nature of the area, there are new species being discovered and spotted on an ongoing basis.

Complimentary: Star Cube Sleep out. Can be set up in close proximity to your tent within Usangu Expedition Camp, allowing for the opportunity to experience the night under the stars, a good introduction to the full Trails Camp experience.

What is Trails Camp experience? - an overnight sleep-out with an emphasis on walking in the Usangu Wetlands.
